Best Poster Award for presentation of SFB 1112-group Mundhenk/Gruber at European Veterinary Pathology Congress 2016
News from Sep 12, 2016
Results of SFB 1112-project C03 on "CLCA2 is overexpressed in psoriatic but not in atopic dermatitis mouse skin models" were awarded with "Best Poster Award" on this year's 34th ESVP-ECVP Annual Meeting 2016, taking place from September 7 - 10, 2016, in Bologna (Italy).
Project C03 headed by principal investigators Dr. Lars Mundhenk and Prof. Dr. Achim Gruber has developed murine models of inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Currently, penetration behaviour and effects of barrier dysfunction in diseased skin are investigated, aiming at optimization of topical dermatotherapy using nanosized drug carriers.
The awarded poster presents results on the expression pattern of the so-called CLCA2-protein and its role in terminal differentiation of epidermal cells in inflamed murine skin. The cells of the epidermis comprise the outer skin layer and their functional differntniation is a prerequisite for effective barrier function of the skin.
SFB 1112 cordially congratulates all contributors!
