Poster award for SFB 1112 doctoral student C. Hausmann, 21st Annual Meeting of Gesellschaft für Dermopharmazie 2017
News from Mar 23, 2017
Results of SFB 1112-researchon the topic of "Fibroblasts from aged donors shape the morphology of reconstructed human skin towards an aged skin phenotype" were awarded with the second prize of "Hans Christian Korting-Nachwuchspreis for Dermopharmazie", a prize for young researchers, on this year's annual meeting of Gesellschaft für Dermopharmazie in Munich (March 20 - 22, 2017)
In the group of Prof. Dr. Monika Schäfer-Korting (Pharmakology and Toxikology, Institute of Pharmacy, Freie Universität Berlin), in vitro skin models are developed, amongst others on aged skin, in order to study and characterize skin barrier functions and penetration of drugs int skin. The long-term goal is to develop optimized therapeutic strategies for inflammatory skin diseases unsing nano-sized drug -carrier systems.
The awardee, Christian Hausmann, is a doctoral student within project C02 (In vitro disease models - test platform for the investigation of nanocarrier related transport, activity, and toxicity of drugs) of SFB 1112 and a fellowship holder of IRTG "Nanocarriers".
Further contributions to the prize-winning research project came from SFB 1112-projects C05 (AG Prof. Dr. Dr.-Ing Jürgen Lademann) and Z01 (groups of Prof. Dr. Burkhard Kleuser, Universität Potsdam; Prof. Dr. Nan Ma, HZG Teltow; and Prof. Dr. Monika Schäfer-Korting, FU Berlin).
SFB 1112 cordially congratulates all contributors!
